Esta história é baseada em algumas personagens mitológicas ligeiramente alteradas. todos buscamos inspiração as coisas de que gostamos. E alteramo-las para melhor servirem o efeito que queremos...mas acima de tudo não passou de uma experiência...
Once upon a time, in the time when magic still existed in this world, there were two brothers who lived in the distant lands of the North.
They were best friends and they went everywhere together
They lived in a big castle with their father. They were princes and their father was the ruler of all the Northlands. He was a good king. And a wise one too. Sometimes he sat for hours hearing the people, one hand in his white beard, looking at them with his only eye. The other, some said, he had given in exchange for knowledge.
The king loved his children and gave them anything they wanted. But they didn't want much. A field of green grass to run on or a silvery stream of water to bathe in was enough for them. But most of the times all they wanted was to sit near the good hearted guardian of the bridge on the border of their kingdom and hear stories about the realms beyond it.
The boys were very different from each other. While they were both good hearted and kind, one was stronger and with long blond hair, and the other lacking in strength was fast as an arrow and had dark ebony hair.
One day as they played in the castle they saw two packages been given to the king. One by a short bulky man and the other by a tall slender woman that blend in the shadows of the room.
Later that day, the grand vizier came to their room and hurried them to the King's Hall. They had only been there once, and that was when they were born. The Hall was full with important people from the kingdom.
The king rose from his throne, one wolf at each side and two crows perching in a wall near it.
"My sons" said the king "the day when you become men is at hand. From now on you depend on yourselves. And the Kingdom depends on you"
"But first I have something for you" he went to a wooden box and took two items.
"Come forward my sons. And receive these offerings."
"To you my son" turning to the older "I'll give you this bow. You shall have speed by your side when you need it the most"
"To you Child of my heart" he said to the younger "I’ll give you this hammer a sign of strength hoping it never fail you"
"Thank you All Father" they said together.
That night they didn't slept making plans for their journeys.
The next week the princes went on their first journey, and lived many adventures. They always returned with the same happiness they had left.
One day a messenger from one of the noble houses came to the royal gardens where the princes rested.
"My lady was on the woods alone and was taken by a group of giants" he said.
The princes went as fast as they can to find her. It took them three weeks to find the giants lair.
They got off the horses and started their way on foot.
In a second they were surrounded.
With a move of his hammer the prince took two giants opening a way for his brother. Arrows have no utility in close combat so he had to open a way. His brother started to run for the opening.
As he did this another giant hit his brother sending him one way and his hammer the other. Seeing an open enemy the giants run to the fallen prince. The other prince looked at his brother. Then at the castle. He saw the hammer. He raised it. He looked around again. His brother surrounded. A lady in a castle full of giants. Then he saw it. A forest near there. They could lose the giants there.
His brother screamed.
He had started to run.
His brother screams were louder. The forest was near.
He was almost dead when he reached his land.
A blessing they said. One came back after both had been considered dead.
He kept his brother weapon as his own.
The people said that when he used the hammer thunders could be heard in the sky.
And as time passed by no one remembered anymore the weapon's true owner.
Except for him.
And his brother.
